The role of the school brigadier is very important.
The brigadier ensures the safety of schoolchildren at intersections while maintaining the correct pedestrian rules taught by the parents.
Did you know that according to section 311 of the Code de la sécurité routière that when traffic is directed by a peace officer, a school brigadier or a traffic signaller responsible for directing traffic during work, all persons must, despite a contrary signalling, must obey orders and signals.
Brigadiers are assigned to intersections required by the City’s Public Safety Department.
Brigadiers are present at intersections near schools and at the following times:
Alexander-Wolff School
Morning: 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Dinner: 10:20 a.m. to 1:05 p.m.
End of class: 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Dollard-des-Ormeaux School
Morning: 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Dinner: 11 a.m. to 1:20 p.m.
End of class: 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
