Hello!

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the City of Shannon’s website.

Located on the Jacques-Cartier River just 20 minutes from Quebec City, our city of nearly 6,432 inhabitants1 is rich in history and heritage, in particular thanks to the presence of the Valcartier military base and to the dynamism of our Irish community with whom we are celebrating our 75th anniversary this year. 1Statistiques Canada 2021

The City of Shannon offers attractive residential development sectors with an overall tax rate significantly lower than other municipalities. Elected the 2nd youngest city in Quebec, according to the Statistical Institute of Quebec, we distinguish ourselves by our peaceful environment, in the heart of nature, where life is good!

Shannon is full of recreational activities and infrastructure, including a municipal library, many parks with modern play structures, a dog park, trails for walking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, a sports chalet, and superb outdoor winter skating trails, in addition to numerous activities offered to residents throughout the year.

We are also proud to be associated with Valcartier Base’s sports center and the “Centre de la Famille Valcartier”, which offer many facilities and leisure activities to residents. The City also has several community organizations that contribute to the vitality of our community.

In closing, I invite you to regularly consult our website to be well informed and to follow us on the City’s Facebook page.

Welcome to Shannon!
