The name CatShaLac takes the first three (3) letters of the cities represented: CATherine, SHAnnon and LAC Saint-Joseph.

Catshalac is a hunting and fishing association that encourages these two sports by emphasizing accessibility, training and respect for wildlife and its habitat. Several activities, all organized by volunteers, are on the program, starting with six (6) weeks of ice fishing in Baie Duchesnay, the access ramp to Lac Saint-Joseph from May to October, fly fishing and tying lessons, the annual barbecue dinner, the Jacques-Cartier Clean-up operation and the Fishing Festival Day.
