IMPORTANT NOTICE / ANNUAL CLEANING WATER NETWORK
TO ALL RESIDENTS OF SHANNON WHO ARE SERVED BY THE AQUEDUCT SYSTEM

The Public Works Department wishes to inform citizens that it will be proceeding with the annual cleaning of the city’s drinking water network as of Wednesday, April 20 until Mai 20, 2022. Family housing at Base Valcartier, which has its own water system, is not affected by this flushing notice.

During this operation, the water may have a more pronounced chlorine odor than usual for a day or two. This does not affect the quality of the water, which will remain drinkable for consumption.

This operation, which makes it possible to maintain the quality of the water and to increase the efficiency of the treatment facilities, may lead to a slight drop in pressure and / or a coloration of the water in the sector where the rinsing is carried out.

Here are a few tips :

  • Let the cold tap water run
  • Before washing, check the color of the water so as not to stain the clothes.

This coloring of the water poses NO RISK to health since it remains drinkable for consumption.

The City of Shannon respects the strictest water quality standards.
