Encore une fois cette année, la Ville de Shannon sera très bien représentée au Défilé de la Saint-Patrick de Québec qui se tiendra ce samedi 25 mars 2023 à 14 h.
Mme Pauline McCarthy, résidente de longue date de Shannon et femme extraordinaire, a été choisie comme Grand Maréchal du défilé 2020 et sera honorée lors du défilé de cette année.
La conseillère municipale, Mme Lynn Chiasson, ainsi qu’une résidente de longue date, Mme Line Samson, porteront fièrement la bannière annonçant les participants de la Ville de Shannon. Parmi ceux-ci, nous sommes très heureux de compter la mairesse, Mme Sarah Perreault. Participeront également au défilé des représentants de la Catholic Women’s League, de la Société historique de Shannon, des Shannon Irish Dancers, du Conseil local du patrimoine ainsi que des citoyens aînés de Shannon. Les descendants des familles fondatrices irlandaises de Shannon seront également présents, portant des bannières familiales affichant les noms de Conway, Feeney, Griffin, Guilfoyle, Kelly, Kiley, King, Landrigan, Lannin, Leahy, McCarthy, Neville, Noonan, O’Shea et Power.

The City of Shannon participates in the Québec City St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Once again, this year, the City of Shannon will be very well represented at the 2023 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Québec City which will be held on Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
Mrs. Pauline McCarthy, a long-time resident of Shannon, and woman extraordinaire, was chosen as Grand Marshal of the 2020 Parade and will be honoured in this year’s Parade.
Our city councilor, Mrs. Lynn Chiasson, along with long-time resident, Mrs. Line Samson, will proudly carry the banner announcing the participants of the City of Shannon. Among those participants, we are very pleased to have our Mayoress, Mrs. Sarah Perreault. Also participating in the Parade are representatives of the Catholic Women’s League, the Shannon Historical Society, the Shannon Irish Dancers, the Local Heritage Council and the Shannon Senior Citizens. Descendants of the Irish founding families of Shannon will be there, carrying family banners with the names Conway, Feeney, Griffin, Guilfoyle, Kelly, Kiley, King, Landrigan, Lannin, Leahy, McCarthy, Neville, Noonan, O’Shea and Power.
