La Ville de Shannon souhaite informer les citoyens que l’inspection printanière des bornes d’incendie débutera ce jeudi 20 avril 2023 sur l’ensemble du territoire.
Cet avis ne vise pas le secteur des logements familiaux de la Base Valcartier.
Conséquemment, au cours des prochaines semaines, il pourrait y avoir une baisse temporaire de la pression d’eau du robinet accompagnée ou non d’une légère coloration jaunâtre, brunâtre ou rougeâtre de l’eau qui demeurera sécuritaire pour la consommation.
En cas de coloration de l’eau, voici quelques consignes à suivre :
- Ouvrir le robinet d’eau froide et laisser couler l’eau jusqu’à ce qu’elle redevienne claire ;
- Pour éviter de tacher les tissus, assurez-vous que l’eau est incolore avant de faire votre lessive.
Ces inspections sont nécessaires pour maintenir la bonne condition des bornes d’incendie. Nous nous excusons des inconvénients et remercions les citoyens de leur habituelle collaboration.

NOTICE TO CITIZENS – INSPECTION OF FIRE HYDRANTS
The City of Shannon wishes to inform citizens that the spring inspection of fire hydrants will begin this Thursday, April 20, 2023 throughout the territory.
This notice does not apply to the family housing of the Base Valcartier.
Consequently, over the next few weeks, there could be a temporary drop in tap water pressure with or without a slight yellowish, brownish or reddish color in the water, which will remain safe for consumption.
In the event of discoloration of the water, here are some instructions to follow:
- Open the cold water tap and let the water run until it becomes clear again;
- To avoid staining fabrics, make sure the water is colorless before doing your laundry.
These inspections are necessary to maintain the good condition of the fire hydrants. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank the citizens for their usual cooperation.
