La Ville de Shannon est heureuse d’annoncer la réouverture du terrain de tir à l’arc adjacent au Parc municipal, au 73, chemin de Gosford.
« Cette réouverture fait suite à un engagement du conseil municipal afin de permettre aux adeptes de tir à l’arc de pratiquer leur activité en toute sécurité dans un site enchanteur », mentionne la mairesse Sarah Perreault
Situé dans un environnement boisé et bien délimité, le champ de pratique de tir à l’arc met à la disposition des archers de Shannon et des environs un espace sécuritaire pour pratiquer leur sport tous les jours de la semaine.
Le site comprend quatre (4) cibles ainsi que deux (2) potences permettant des tirs sur des distances de :
- 15 mètres
- 20 mètres (cible et potence)
- 30 mètres
- 40 mètres (cible et potence)
Les boîtiers prévus pour accueillir les flèches sont débarrés et il est possible pour les archers d’accrocher leurs cibles en papier à l’intérieur de ces derniers et d’apporter leurs sacs de sable ou cibles de chasse qu’ils pourront accrocher sur une des deux potences mises à leur disposition. L’accès au site de tir à l’arc est ouvert sept jours par semaine, de l’aube au crépuscule, jusqu’à la première neige.
La Ville de Shannon invite les adeptes de tir à l’arc à profiter pleinement de ces installations sportives tout en demeurant prudents et respectueux envers les autres dans la pratique de leur sport.
REOPENING OF THE ARCHERY FIELD AT THE MUNICIPAL PARK
The City of Shannon is pleased to announce the reopening of the archery field adjacent to the Municipal Park, at 73, Gosford Road.
« This reopening follows a commitment by the municipal council to allow archery enthusiasts to practice their activity safely in an enchanting site, » said Mayoress Sarah Perreault.
Located in a wooded and well-defined environment, the archery practice range provides archers from Shannon and the surrounding area with a safe space to practice their sport every day of the week.
The site includes four (4) targets as well as two (2) gallows allowing shots over distances of:
- 15 meters
- 20 meters (target and gallows)
- 30 meters
- 40 meters (target and gallows)
The boxes provided to accommodate the arrows are unlocked and it is possible for archers to hang their paper targets inside them and to bring their sandbags or hunting targets which they can hang on one of the two gallows made available to them. Access to the archery site is open seven days a week, from dawn to dusk, until the first snowfall.
The City of Shannon invites archery enthusiasts to take full advantage of these sports facilities while remaining cautious and respectful towards others in the practice of their sport.
