DESCRIPTION:Do you have a green thumb? Would you like to grow your own vegetable patch or garden\, but don’t have the space? Would you like to share your passion for gardening with other enthusiasts? \n  \nA few plots are still available at the Community Garden\, located near the Shannon Community Center at 75\, chemin de Gosford. The allocation of vacant spaces will be made by drawing lots from among the registrations received in order to promote access for all. \n  \nOn the site you will have access to a shed\, a watering system\, a trash can and a compost bin. \n  \nAccess to the site is from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.\, seven days a week. \n  \nUsers must bring their seedlings and seeds which are not provided. \n  \nRegistration is free! \n  \nInterested in getting a lot for the upcoming summer? \n  \nThe terms and conditions for entering the draw are as follows: between May 1 and May 12\, 2023\, indicate your interest by email with your name\, mailing address and telephone number at loisirs@shannon.ca or by calling (418) 844 -3778 extension 230. \n  \nThe draw will take place on May 15\, 2023. If a place is assigned to you\, the Recreation Department will send you the form to complete to finalize your registration. DESCRIPTION:“The Irish immigrants of la Seigneurie de Fossambault” \n  \nAfter a two-year break\, the Local Heritage Council and the Shannon Historical Society are pleased to invite you to take part in our sixth annual historical evening. \n  \nSince 2015 our evenings have unveiled different aspects of life in Shannon. This year\, our speaker will be the always entertaining Mr. Daniel Stewart. \n  \nMr. Stewart is a retired public servant\, musician\, amateur historian\, genealogist and regular consultant for various historical societies. He has concentrated his research in the area known as “la Seigneurie de Fossambault” now known as: Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier\, Shannon\, Lake Saint Joseph and Fossambault-sur-le-Lac; including a large sector of the Valcartier Military Base. This is where his Stewart ancestors pioneered and established homesteads. His interest in their stories quickly became a passion for the history of the region. His main objective is to research and chronicle the events of the past and to promote an awareness of a little-known chapter of Irish history in Quebec. \n  \nWhen: Thursday\, April 27th\, 2023.
